The idea was set up by Carla Beekman, a jazz double bass player from Amsterdam, who started the first Amsterdam Jazzclub for a hotel in Switzerland and since then succesful organises these projects.
She studied double bass/jazzmusic at the Amsterdam Sweelinck Conservatory and attended masterclasses from well known double bassplayers like Hein van de Geyn, Red Mitchell, Rufus Reid, Todd Coolman and Ray Brown.
Known for her nice swing and sound she supported many bands. In Europe she acted with different combos in Belgium, Germany, France, Switzerland and Austria and recorded two cd’s.
